February 24, 2017 - Preston and Ashley Make All Three USMTS Shows
`Making the first start of the season with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Preston Seratt and Ashley Newman traveled to Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) on Friday for the opening night of the Summit Racing USMTS Southern Region presented by Production Jars. Charging to a heat race win from the 4th-starting position, Seratt earned the 8th-starting spot for feature while Newman locked the pole position for the main after capturing his own heat race victory. Rolling off 8th for the feature, Preston Seratt was running as high as 4th until suffering a flat right-rear tire and a broken pull bar. Losing positions but able to finish the race, Seratt limped across the finish line in 16th while Newman slipped back to a 20th place outing.

On Saturday 44 USMTS followers headed to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) for another $3,000-to-win A-Main. Scoring a runner-up finish from the 5th-starting spot in his heat, Preston earned the pole position for the feature. Ashley fell short of a transfer position in his heat after placing 6th but edged his way into the main event with a 5th place finish in his B-Main. Jumping out into the lead on the drop of the green flag, Seratt held the top spot for only three laps but battled for a Top 5 finish all race. Making contact with another competitor late in the 40-lapper, Preston dropped back to a 7th place finish. Ashley was unable to get anything started from the back of the pack placing 23rd.

Wrapping up the Summit Racing USMTS Southern Region on Sunday, Seratt Motorsports stopped at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) for another shot at the $3,000 top prize. Falling short of a transfer position in his heat with a 3rd place spot, Seratt scored a 3rd place finish in his B-Main locking himself into the finale. Ashley Newman started the day off by posting a heat race victory putting him 7th on the starting rundown for the feature. Working his way into a podium spot early in the main, Newman dropped back to a 16th place outing after making hard contact with the wall. Preston decided to pull off midway through the race to save equipment while being credited with a 21st place finish.

February 11, 2017 - Seratt Motorsports Begin Season at Sunshine State Mod Tour at East Bay
Seratt Motorsports kicked off the 2017 season on Wednesday night at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Florida) with Preston Seratt and Ashley Newman both in action for the final four rounds of the Sunshine State Modified Tour. Drawing 52 Open Wheel Modifieds, Seratt placed 5th in his heat sending him into the B-Main while Newman locked his spot into the feature with a runner-up finish behind Mike Potosky in his heat. Transferring the Top 2 out of the B-Main, Preston came one position short with a 3rd place finish. Earning the 9th-starting position for the $1,000-to-win A-Main, Ashley dropped back to an 18th place outing.

`Returning on Thursday for a chance at the $1,500 payday, Ashley Newman started the night off by scoring a heat race win from the 2nd-starting position. Preston outdueled former NASCAR stand-out Kenny Wallace to capture the 2nd place spot behind Newman along with a transfer position into the main event. In the A-main while battling for a podium finish, Seratt dropped back to a 14th place outing after getting taken out by another competitor. Breaking into the Top 5, Ashley Newman advanced three spots in the main event scoring a 3rd place finish behind Kevin Adams and Jeff Matthews with David Reutimann and Bryan Bernhardt rounding out the Top 5 finishers. On Friday in a stout field of 56 cars, Preston edged his way into the feature with a 3rd place finish in his heat. Ashley Newman logged a 4th place outing in his heat but stormed to a consolation win to lock his spot into the main event. With both cars improving in the A-Main, Preston Seratt jumped up four spots to place 12th while Newman advanced nine positions to place 11th.

Closing out the Sunshine Mod Tour at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Florida) on Saturday, Preston edged his way into the $5,000-to-win finale with a 2nd place finish in his heat. Ashley came short of a transfer position in his heat and then suffered mechanical issues in his consolation event bringing a disappointing end to his weekend. With 75-laps to gain some ground in the A-Main, Preston Seratt registered a 20th place finish.
